Since ancient times, Trencin castle has guarded trade routes connecting people across regions and countries. This made trade possible, but also exchange of ideas, knowledge and culture.

As European Capital of Culture in 2026, the city of Trencin and Trencin castle is continuing this in new ways. Trencin26 is connecting people locally and from all over Europe, cultivating curiosity, cooperation and creativity.

(guarding) routes is a colourful and playful micromapping created for the opening weekend of Trencin26 by blekksprut1 in Norway. This micromapping aims to celebrate Trencin26 and show our appreciation of the collaboration between blekksprut1 and our Trencin26 partners.
